My First 15th Grade Show & Tell, Silhouettes From Rural India

The Hallery Featured works from artists Cameron Douglas & Pratyoosh Kashyap

The prints I am presenting were made through the printing method of Lithography, both standard multi-layer color lithography & Photo Lithography. In terms of concept for these pieces, I like to give my viewers the opportunity to make a personal connection with my art but leaving my concepts open ended. Whatever concept you believe is being displayed, is the concept being displayed. -Cameron Douglas

References to rural India evoke many images cultural and demographic diversity, with its idiosyncrasies of life and vibrancy. Silhouettes have the ability to represent scenes in a more simplistic form while still preserving details and identity. Through this series of photographs, I’ve attempted to illustrate a story of home and her people. I made these photographs in different parts of India, between 2015 and 2019. These photographs, in both color and black and white, tell stories of everyday lives, of excitement, of work, and of the mundane. -Pratyoosh Kashyap
