On Wednesday, Nov. 16 CSU will host its second CEDSA Symposium in the Lory Student Center. CEDSA, Colorado Educational Services and Development Association, had founding members from Colorado State University 42 years ago. This non-profit works to promote, facilitate and coordinate access to post-secondary education for all Colorado students, with specific focus on students of color, first-generation college students and students with financial need. To achieve these goals, CEDSA relies on providing a variety of opportunities and resources to Colorado students. One of these is the annual Symposium.
The Symposium is full of programming for Colorado high school students focused on access to higher education. The agenda includes a keynote speaker, breakout sessions, a student panel and college fair. The building is expected to host around 300 students and their high school counselors.
This will be the second Symposium Colorado State has hosted. The previous symposium was held in November of 2014, which welcomed a record 330 students, 40 high school counselors, and 30 college representatives.
