Generation Exchange – Volunteer Opportunity

March 28 @ 10:15 am - 1:00 pm

[Service Happenings Opportunity]

Generation Exchange connects students and older adults in order to exchange knowledge and understanding about technology while creating new connections of engagement, purpose, and leadership between generations.

As a volunteer, you will be paired one-on-one with an older adult who you will mentor for 2 hours on whatever tech questions they have. Examples of common things people look for help with: “iPhone, selfies, texting”, “Facebook – doing videos -maybe Snapchat” & “I can’t email my documents”.In exchange for answering simple tech questions, you will gain from the wisdom and knowledge of your Mentee. You can ask them about anything you’d like help with. It is a super easy, fun, and rewarding experience – so many new friendships are formed at each workshop. We also provide you with breakfast and coffee! The workshop runs from 10:15am-1pm. We start at 10:15am with food, a quick prep, and choosing who you’d like to Mentor. The Mentees arrive at 11am and you will have 2 hours of teaching, learning, and connecting! To volunteer with us, we require that you please sign up on our website at generationexchange.org/signup.
