Campus Activities offers students a multitude of opportunities to become involved and active on the CSU campus through our four entities: RamEvents (Programming Board), LSC Arts, Flea Market, and Campus Information & Box Office. Campus Information & Box Office: Campus Information & Box Office and Flea Market provides information services, holds the University’s central lost & found, provides a convenient mail drop, and manages the campus box office and LSC Flea Market.

Information Specialists provide customer service at several locations throughout the LSC, including the main Campus Information desk, Information 2, and Campus Activities reception. Information Specialists also support the sale of on and off-campus activities ticketed through the Campus Box Office, support campus-wide lost and found, and handle all mail for the LSC. The Information Specialist position provides excellent levels of customer experience, accurate information, and efficient ticketing services to students, faculty, staff, guests, and community.

Job duties:

  • Greet and assist patrons in a courteous, tactful, and informative manner by providing accurate information about the Lory Student Center and Colorado State University
  • Stay informed and aware of updated information at all times; be willing to locate the information to meet a customer’s needs to distribute accurate information

LSC Arts: Through The Curfman Gallery, The Duhesa Lounge, and a variety of other student art exhibition opportunities, The LSC Arts Program hopes to create an environment that welcomes both art novices and art professionals.

The Collections Manager is primarily responsible for the care, upkeep, and organization of the permanent LSC Art Collection.

Job duties:

  • Diligent maintenance of the Artwork Archive database with all changes to the status of works in the collection. 
  • Simple repairs and maintenance to artworks, including cleaning and other tasks that require little or no impact to artwork. 
  • Development of relationships with donors who are affiliated the arts program. 
  • Installation of artwork in and around the LSC 
  • Curation of semi-permanent exhibit spaces within the LSC 
  • Research associated with the LSC Art Collection, including the origins of artworks, possible NAGPRA procedures, future strategic goals of the collection.

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the marketing of all LSC Arts Program activities, including exhibitions, special events, and the program itself.

Job duties:

  • Design marketing materials for all LSC Arts Program events, including art exhibitions, speaking engagements, hiring opportunities, calls for submission, etc. May occasionally be asked to assist in design for other areas of Campus Activities.  
  • Adhere to all branding standards and guidelines for Colorado State University entities. 
  • Work closely with Exhibition Coordinators, Co-Lead Preparators, and Program Manager to market each exhibition in the Curfman Gallery, Duhesa Gallery, and Hallery. Work directly with artists to manage marketing of exhibitions. 
  • Manage social network accounts for the Arts Program, create and publish content. Check and filter LSC Arts Program email. 
  • Creation of monthly newsletter to all email list recipients detailing Arts related events.

  • Graphic Design: Develop and execute high quality visual design, manage design and material production to meet specific standards of delivery, meet appropriate deadlines for the creation of said items. 
  • Marketing Exhibitions: Create a marketing plan in conjunction with the Program Manager, meet regularly to ensure the delivery of high quality content. 
  • Social Media: development of LSC Arts Instagram, email, website social media outlets; creation/ modification of content to suit those outlets, creation of social media schedule detailing the publishing of content related to exhibitions, events, show times, etc. 
  • Innovation and Education: Marketing Coordinator is expected to keep themselves informed on the topics of marketing and social media, and to find innovative ways to market the LSC Arts Program. 
  • Independent Action: Marketing Coordinator is expected to understand and implement marketing endeavors independently and in a timely manner.

Exhibitions Installers are primarily responsible for the installation of art exhibitions in the LSC, hanging art around the building, and the creation of display fixtures. Exhibitions Installers are supervised by the Lead Preparators and Program Manager.

Job duties:

  • Install exhibitions in Curfman and Duhesa Gallery under the direction of Lead Preparators. Includes spackling and painting, moving of large walls to define spaces, use of hand and power tools in accordance with safety procedures, measuring and hanging artwork, construction of pedestals and other display fixtures. Installers are expected to work as a team or independently. 
  • Use good judgment and appropriate art handling methods in the installation of artwork. 
  • Assist Collections Manager in the installation of artworks around the LSC. 
  • Function as Docent in Curfman Gallery. Docents are responsible for the safe and professional operation of the Curfman Gallery during hours open to the public, as well as miscellaneous tasks as they are assigned. 
  • Open / Close exhibitions in the Curfman Gallery in a timely manner according to any special instructions associated with the exhibit. 
  • Supervision of gallery visitors, with special attention the safety of visitors, care of artwork, counting visitors, and attentive customer service. 
  • Routine maintenance of the gallery, including cleaning (mopping, cleaning glass, dusting, etc.). 
  • Other tasks will be assigned to Gallery Docents as they arise that are things that can be accomplished without interfering with the docent’s primary duties.

Job duties:

  • Open / Close of gallery: Each exhibit carries special responsibilities at open and close, that will be defined by the Program Manager, Exhibition Coordinator, and Lead Preparator. These duties will include, but are not limited to, jobs like turning on monitors, opening glass doors, engagement with artwork. 
  • Supervision of Gallery: Docents are expected to be on time for shifts, to work the duration of the shift, and to close the gallery if next Docent does not arrive on time (leaving a note and informing Lead Preparator). Visitors are to be greeted kindly and informed that docents are available to answer questions. Visitors are to be watched to be sure that no harm comes to themselves or the artwork. At no time should someone visit the Curfman Gallery without the Docent engaging with them in some way. Earbuds or headphones are not allowed. 
  • Routine Maintenance: Glass doors are to be cleaned whenever needed, gallery floors are to be swept daily at close and mopped according to the posted schedule. Any damage to artwork or the gallery should be reported to Program Manager and Lead Preparator immediately. 
  • Other Tasks: may include social media posts, small gallery projects, clerical duties, etc. 
  • Education: Each exhibition carries with it special ideas and considerations. Docents are expected to know (not memorize but be familiar with) the artists’/ exhibitions’ main ideas, biography, and common questions, as well as any support materials or events associated with the exhibit. this information should be freely offered to visitors.

Lead Preparator is primarily responsible for the installation of exhibitions, scheduling of both installation and docent crews, supervision of installation and docent crews, and assisting with other projects around the LSC.

Job duties:

  • Timely scheduling: staff will know work shift times 2 weeks prior to scheduled event, installation and docent crews should receive entire schedule at this time (though installation schedules will probably change as needed). Program Manager will be informed of the proposed schedule. 
  • Docent Supervision: Docents should know when their shifts are, be able to open & close the gallery properly, have special customer service knowledge about the exhibit. Docents are expected to handle schedule conflicts on their own and inform the Lead Preparator of changes- the Lead Preparator is responsible for missed shifts. Any behavioral or procedural problems should be communicated to the Program Manager in writing. 
  • Installation Crew Supervision: Installers should know when their scheduled times are, be able to perform basic functions of art installtion, be held to proper art handling procedures, be held to safety requirements including appropriate attire, proper use of protective equipment. Installers are expected to handle scheduling conflicts directly with the Lead Preparator- lead preparator may schedule installations in any appropriate manner that allows work to be done on time. Any behavioral or procedural problems should be communicated to the Program Manager in writing. 
  • Supplies: It is the Lead Preparator’s duty to be sure all appropriate supplies are ready for installation crews, either through requesting materials from the Program Manager 24 hrs in advance or through use of the custodial purchasing card. 
  • Storage Room & Tools: The room should be kept in neat condition, and tools should be cared for properly. Any problems with the storage room or tools should be communicated to the Program Manager in a timely manner. 
  • Communication: Communication is a vital part of this position. As such, the Lead Preparator is expected to check and return work emails on a daily basis throughout the workweek, even if they’re not scheduled for a work shift. Time spent on emails will be documented and added to the employee’s timecard.

The LSC Arts Program Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of the LSC Arts Program. They report directly to the LSC Art Program Manager.

Job duties:

  • Serve as the face of RamEvents by communicating with the media, representing the organization when faced with concerns, and sitting on outside boards and/or committees, such as the LSC Governing Board.

  • Maintain a relationship with ASCSU and present to the Student Fee Review Board (SFRB) regarding the RamEvents budget and programs for upcoming academic year.
