RamEvents is excited to continue serving the CSU community, providing diverse and affordable events that both entertain and enrich the CSU experience. Below you will find a list of our events with details and links.  Check back often as we will add to the list throughout the semester.

Spring 2022 Events

2.3.22 Blast From the Past

RamEvents will be hosting a ‘Blast From the Past’ evening in the LSC Ramskeller. Join us for a night of throwback ’80s-’90s hip-hop and R&B music with featuring DJ Tawanda. There will be free non-alcoholic drinks and pizza provided from the Ramskeller.

2.10.22 Black History Month Keynote: Sybrina Fulton

Sybrina Fulton has become an inspiring spokesperson for parents and
concerned citizens across the country. Reconnect with Fulton after her
2015 visit and reflect on how the world has changed since then with a moderated conversation.

Food and seating will be available in LSC Ballrooms D/C for those who can join person. Virtually, you can join the celebration here at this Zoom Webinar.

2.21.22 Student Parent Week Keynote: Nicole Lynn Lewis

3.5.22 TEDxCSU: Retrace

TEDxCSU is an all-day event, with multiple speaker sessions and between those, an opportunity to check out innovative exhibitions, engage with speakers and discuss ideas worth spreading with hundreds of other TEDxCSU attendees.  Admission to TEDxCSU includes access to the speaker sessions and entrance into the Exhibit Hall,  with food, beverage, innovative exhibitions and a chance to engage in conversation with almost 500 other participants.

Tickets are $5 for students and $15 for the general public. They can be purchased by following the instructions at tedxcsu.com.

3.8.22 & 3.9.22 Bachata Nights

Learn about the history of Bachata, a type of social dance originating in the Dominican Republic. Join us for two free dance lessons instructed by Angelica and Jahaira of In Lak’ech Dance Academy!

In Lak’ech Dance Academy are committed to creating acceptance and inclusivity in the Afro Latin Dance community. In Lak’ech Dance Academy represents queer and trans visibility in the hopes to influence open mindedness, which in turn, will have a positive impact on the LGBTQ+ community as a whole. As an LGBTQ+ organization, In Lak’ech Dance Academy exists to advance the rights of historically marginalized communities. In Lak’ech Dance Academy wants to build a foundation that allows space to address the intersectional issues important to our students. This includes a dedication to centering and uplifting queer and trans Black voices and bodies.

3.29.22 Latinx/e Activism Week Keynote: Mónica Ramírez

Latinx/e Activism Week is a collaborative effort between El Centro and a variety of campus partners that commemorates the historical contributions of Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta and the farmworkers rights movements. Programming during this week seeks to honor our history while uplifting the contemporary Latinx/e activists, advocates and leaders who continue to contribute to advocacy for civil and worker’s rights in Colorado, Fort Collins and beyond. The hope is that CSU students and community members engaging in this programming can reflect and learn skills regarding different forms of advocacy and activism while building upon our historical legacies.

Mónica Ramírez is an attorney, author, and activist fighting for the rights of farmworkers, migrant women workers, and the Latine(x) community. She is the founder of Justice for Migrant Women and co-founder of Alianza Nacional de Campesinas, The Latinx House, and Poderistas.

3.31.22 Trans Day of Visibility

Join the Pride Resource Center and RamEvents as we host filmmaker, actress, and cultural worker Nava Mau, as seen on HBO’s Genera+ion. This event will feature a keynote, Q&A and a streaming of Nava’s short film.

4.3.22 APIDA Heritage Month Meow Wolf Trip

Join the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center and RamEvents as we kick off Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month this year with a trip to Meow Wolf! A tour will be given by Eriko Tsogo, the artist behind the Mongovoo exhibit. Tickets and transportation will be provided.

4.5.22 APIDA Heritage Month Green Mask Workshop

Join the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center and RamEvents at our Green Mask Project Workshop led by Denver artist, Eriko Tsogo. The art created at this workshop will be displayed at the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center office for the rest of the semester! Participants will work closely with Eriko to create something truly special with recycled materials. Food will be provided during the workshop.

4.7.22 APIDA Heritage Month Art Exhibition & Ramen Mixer

Join the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center and RamEvents for a revealing of masks created at the Green Mask Workshop as they are shared with the community, joined by the artist, Eriko Tsogo and the students that have created the masks. Ramen and games will follow the exhibition as the community celebrates in the presence of each other. Various dietary options will be available.

4.14.22 Indigeneity and Hawaiian Activism ft. Kapulei Flores

Join the Native American Cultural Center, the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center and RamEvents as we host Kapulei Flores, a Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) from the Moku ʻo Keawe, also known as Hawaiʻi Island, photographer focused on capturing authentic moments and showing a perspective of Hawaiʻi through native eyes.
