Come work alongside your peers to prepare food for all types of events in and around the heart of campus. What Do Catering Cooks Do?
- Learn and practice safe food handling and maintain a sanitary work environment. Help monitor and document times and temperatures.
- Help prepare, arrange, garnish, and display a variety of foods for all types of events. You’ll learn everything start to finish from grilling steaks and making sauces to packaging sandwiches and building charcuterie trays.
- Organize foods and master timing for execution of event orders.
- Help clean up and organize kitchens during and after events.
Preferred Qualifications

- Have ability to take direction from, and offer suggestions to leadership- We like your input!
- be reliable for own shifts, and communicate regarding scheduling needs.

What do Dish Stewards Do?
- Learn & practice safe food handling and maintain a sanitary work environment. Help monitor and document times and temperatures.
- Wash and sanitize dishes plates, pots, trays, utensils, and other equipment for use by the catering kitchens and other service areas.
- Organize, deliver, and restock clean dishes to storage areas, and collect dirty dishes.
- Monitor and ensure proper dish machine operation, cleaning, and regular maintenance.
- Help clean up and organize kitchens during and after events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Be able to show up ready to work and proactively seek tasks and learning opportunities.
- Have ability to take direction from and offer suggestions to leadership – We like your input!
- Be reliable for own shifts, and communicate regarding scheduling needs.

What do Catering Servers do?
- Learn & practice safe food handling and maintain a sanitary work environment. Help monitor and document times and temperatures.
- Help set up and serve many types of events including receptions, buffets, and sit-down meals. Will include preparing beverages, building display trays, tending to buffets, serving tables, bussing, and arranging table setups.
- Organize, gather equipment, and prepare for upcoming events.
- Make deliveries with food and beverage in and around the Lory Student Center.
- Help clean up and organize kitchens during and after events, including some dishwashing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Be reliable for own shifts, and communicate regarding scheduling needs.
- Have positive work ethic, and enthusiasm for food and beverage service.
- Be able to provide excellent customer service, greet and communicate with guests.
- Have good availability that meets or work schedules – whether you have early morning, evening, or mid-day availability, condiser applying (some weekends are REQUIRED)
