SHAPE Focused Mini-Certificates

Workshops will be synchronous beginning Wednesday, FEBRUARY 2nd from 5:30-6:30 p.m. – for 6 consecutive weeks. You will be eligible for BOTH mini-certificates once the 6 workshops are completed. You may register any time; workshops offered both semesters.

Components of the Mini-Certificates

  • Attend FOUR workshops
  • Complete a quiz related to the workshops’ content
  • Complete a reflection connected to experience
  • Receive e-certificate to highlight on your resume through RamLink

NOTE: Two of the workshops count for both mini-certificates, meaning if you complete SIX total workshops, and complete the subsequent quizzes and reflections, you would receive BOTH mini-certificates.

Mini-Certificate #1 | Communication & Conflict

Workshops Associated with Communication & Conflict Mini-Certificate
Note: The workshops do not need to be completed in any order

Oftentimes we think of conflict as something to be avoided, but conflict is a part of day-to-day life! Guided by staff from the Student Resolution Center, this workshop offers the opportunity to explore the attitude and behaviors you hold toward, and in the midst of, conflict as well as strategies to navigate tough situations with your individual traits in mind.

Discover how to make your individual skills and traits shine when working with others during this interactive workshop! You will explore the role you tend to play within a group and learn more about what makes you a team player through a variety of interactive scenarios.

Communication is not all the same, and understanding that there are differences and how to approach them from a culturally aware place is crucial in workplaces and leadership positions. Attend this workshop to understand how intercultural communication impacts the workplace.

One of the requirements of effective supervision is navigating conflict and giving/receiving feedback. This workshop exposes attendees to different strategies and will focus on scenarios with difficult conversations.

How we understand the world and who we find ourselves drawn to is related to who we are and what experiences we’ve had. Come to this workshop to understand how bias can unintentionally affect hiring and selection processes, along with retention of workers through the concept of belonging.

It can be difficult navigating power in supervision roles when supervisees are peers or those close in age. Attend this workshop to learn tips and techniques to working with supervisees, and what to do when it becomes difficult.
