The purpose of the LSC Governing Board is to improve the student center operations and offerings. The board is comprised of student members (both undergraduate and graduate), advisors, and the LSC Executive Director. The group meets weekly or bi-weekly to discuss, debate, and vote on policies and proposals. LSC Governing Board members help guide the Student Center executives with functions such as budgets, student fees, food court operations, renovation ideas, and much more. Student members maintain an active liaison relationship with LSC departments and other committees to share information related to the diverse areas in which the LSC functions.
LSC Governing Board Job Descriptions
The Administrative Director has an abiding commitment to and active promotion of an equitable and inclusive environment, and the development and enhancement of collaborative relationships. Pay rate: $15.42 per hours.
Hours per week: 3-4

Job duties
- Foster an organizational culture which embraces the Principles of Community, including inclusion, integrity, respect, service, and social justice.
- Embrace and apply the tenets of a team model with colleagues and peers to sustain an inclusive work environment that fosters a culture of belonging in support of multiple and intersecting identities.
- Keep minutes and all official reports of the Lory Student Center Governing Board, excluding those submitted by each member, which shall be kept by the Chair.
- Keep record of member attendance.
- Submit minutes to the Chair and members of the board, and LSC Marketing within 48 hours after the meeting.
- Update Minutes Motions Archive when needed or at least at the end of each semester.
- Assist the Chair to coordinate and financially plan Lory Student Center Governing Board retreats, dinners, orientations, and any other activity that the Lory Student Center Governing Board deems necessary.
- Assist Chair with formatting the calendar with the General, Executive, APE Committee, and Student Few Review Board meetings and distributing it to members at the beginning of each semester.
- Maintain contact list for all individuals on the board.
- Maintain all official treasury reports and disburse all funds of the Lory Student Center Governing Board.
- Maintain all Lory Student Center Governing Board funds in the designated Student Organization’s account.
- Serve on or appoint a representative to the Student Few Review Board.
- Compete RSO training and RamLink page renewal in the fall semester.
- Become P-Card trained.
- Present a monthly report to the Lory Student Center Governing Board.
- Submit an annual written report of the Administrative Director’s work to the Lory Student Center Governing Board.

- Embrace and apply the tenets of a team model with colleagues and peers to sustain an inclusive work environment that fosters a culture of belonging in support of multiple and intersecting identities.
- Establish agendas, share with members, and preside over the Lory Student Center Governing Board meetings.
- Review and approve public weekly Meeting Minutes.
- Oversee all membership of the Lory Student Center Governing Board.
- Represent the Lory Student Center Governing Board at any meeting deemed necessary by the Board, including the Vice President for Student Affairs Student Leadership Council.
- Create and appoint Ad Hoc Committees when deemed necessary by the Board.
- Update the current project outline when necessary.
- Coordinate planning of the Lory Student Center Governing Board retreats, orientations, and any other activity that the Lory Student Center Governing Board deems necessary.
- Meet regularly with LSCGB advisor(s).
- The Chair shall vote only in the case of a tie.
- At the discretion of the Chair and with the approval of the Board, any representative may be added to the Executive Board for a specified period of time.
- Maintain all annual reports submitted by members.
- Complete Registered Student Organization (RSO) training and RamLink page renewal in the fall semester.
- Become P-Card trained.
- Schedule the Directors of the Lory Student Center to present area updates about anything they deem necessary to the Lory Student Center Governing Board at least once an [academic] year or as the Board deems helpful and necessary.
- Evaluate the tasks and duties of the Lory Student Center Governing Board and submit an annual written report of the Chair’s work to the Lory Student Center Governing Board.
- Fulfill any other duties deemed necessary by the Lory Student Center Governing Board.

- Meet regularly with the Lory Student Center Marketing department to coordinate promotional activities and recruitment of undergraduate members for the Lory Student Center Governing Board.
- Meet regularly with the Lory Student Center Talent Development team to assist with orientations, training workshops, etc.
- Manage the Lory Student Center Governing Board website and RamLink page.
- Assemble proposals for public relations items, with assistance from LSC Marketing.
- Assemble proposals for the Lory Student Center Governing Board’s other marketing items.
- Present a monthly report to the Lory Student Center Governing Board.
- Submit an annual written report of the Marketing Director’s work to the Lory Student Center Governing Board.

- Be responsible for compiling all necessary information and research for submitted Policy Exception Request(s).
- Be responsible for the completion of orientation and training of new members of the Lory Student Center Governing Board.
- Assist the Chair to coordinate the planning of Lory Student Center Governing Board retreats, dinners, orientations, and any other activity that the Lory Student Center Governing Board deems necessary.
- Present a monthly report to the Lory Student Center Governing Board.
- Submit an annual written report of the Vice Chair’s work to the Lory Student Center Governing Board.
