The CSU Bookstore has served the book and supply needs of the Colorado State University community since 1950. Bookstore Job Descriptions
Pay rate: $14.42 per hour
Hours per week: Shifts vary between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Some weekend hours are mandatory.
Specific hours: This temporary assignment starts 01/08/2024 and ends 02/03/2024. Mandatory training starts 01/08/23. Only apply if you can commit and be present in the Bookstore to fill job requirements.

Job duties:
- Cashiering, which includes but is not limited to transactions, customer refunds, and departmental orders.
- Providing customers your undivided attention by actively greeting customers as they enter the store and thanking them as they leave.
- Assisting customers by helping them find items, or by making recommendations on possible alternatives.
- Electronically filing textbook documents, barcoding, stocking, straightening textbooks, and fulfilling pre orders.
The CSU Bookstore operates our web store, bookstore.colostate.edu, to serve students, parents, alumni, and community members who wish to purchase items from the CSU Bookstore’s wide selection of course materials, CSU Rams Gear, Semester at Sea goods, and more.
CSU Bookstore Order Fulfillment Specialists create picklists, retrieves merchandise and course materials for orders, answers customer phone calls, and processes orders using our sales management platform. Employees also pack and ship orders, assist customers at our order pick-up counter, and provide CSU Bookstore customers world-class customer service. Student employees manage product descriptions on the website and assist our shipping/receiving department.

Job duties
- Work independently and efficiently; use available resources to process customer orders.
- Prepare orders for shipment or in-store pick-up.
- Serve customers in various methods, including face-to-face, web-based chat, email, or phone calls.
- Work with other students to fulfill, process, and distribute online orders.
- Help train others on Order Fulfillment processes and procedures.
- Create or manage product descriptions on the website with accuracy, brevity, and SEO in mind.
Preferred qualifications
- Is detail-oriented, organized, and professional
- Possesses superior written and verbal communication skills; is proficient in writing and understanding English. (Other language skills are appreciated.)
- The candidate must be available to work during the school day (Monday-Friday) and on some weekends during the start of each semester.
- We will accommodate vacation plans, but candidates must be available to work at least two weeks before courses begin.
- Order Fulfillment requires 20+ hours/week during the first two weeks of the spring semester. We require evening/weekend availability at the start of each semester.
- Candidates with experience in HTML, CSS, Google Analytics, MBS Insite, Microsoft SharePoint, Twilio, or SEO (Search Engine Optimization) are encouraged to apply.
