The Lory Student Center is host to more than 22,000 visitors everyday during the academic school year. This level of activity provides our business partners, service partners, LSC entities, and student organizations an opportunity to market their products or services using the vast amount of advertising opportunities available to them through the LSC Marketing department.
LSC Marketing offers a wide array of marketing techniques such as digital, print and social media to broaden the reach of our messaging. Our creative marketing team and graphic designers can work with departments in the LSC cluster to craft a targeted campaign using any of advertising tools to leverage the Lory Student Center.
LSC Marketing Job Descriptions
As a Student Graphic Designer with LSC Marketing, you’ll have the opportunity to manage real design projects from start to finish, beginning with the client meetings and ending with final print and digital products. You’ll come away with hands-on experience in project management, including creating time and material estimates, contracting with vendors, working with brand standards, and managing real timelines. Student Graphic Designers will work alongside career graphic designers, web developers, video production artists, and public relations professionals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A second semester sophomore or higher student studying Graphic Design or a related field.
- Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and standard internet applications.
- Ability to work on Macintosh computers.
- Easily able grasp project parameters and manage tasks based on a timeline, strategy, and budget.
- Responds to constructive feedback and able to adapt to changes.
- Able to demonstrate creative style and past experience through samples of previous projects.
- Commitment to the Principles of Community (inclusion, integrity, respect, service, and social justice).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with a commercial printer.
- Basic knowledge of web and social media.
- A self-starter who can begin, maintain, and move projects forward.
- Active socially within the University community and beyond.
- An interest in refining skills for a career in marketing or corporate communications.
- Time management skills.

As a Student Social Media Coordinator with LSC Marketing, you’ll have the opportunity to manage the LSC’s Instagram channel, @csulsc. You’ll also plan content calendars, work with specific clients, and learn about trends and techniques in digital marketing. You’ll work alongside career coordinators with professional multimedia, public relations, and graphic design experience. In addition, you’ll gain first-hand access to LSC Leadership and CSU community events. This is a great opportunity to get real-world practical experience, strengthen your resume, and create projects for your portfolio.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A second semester freshman or higher, studying graphic design, marketing, business, merchandising, writing, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of web and digital content
- Experience using social media, especially Instagram
- Skilled in photography and basic photo editing
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and standard internet applications
- Ability to work on Macintosh computers
- Easily able grasp project parameters and manage tasks based on a timeline, strategy, and budget
- Responds to constructive feedback and able to adapt to changes
- Able to demonstrate strategic thinking and past experience through samples of previous projects.

As a Student Marketing Team Member with LSC Marketing, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in real-time marketing by managing digital advertising, specifically geared toward the Student Center’s LCD screens. You’ll promote the department’s tailored advertising services, take online orders from clients, ensure image quality and brand standards are met, deploy multimedia assets, and oversee invoicing and other forms of customer service. You’ll have input on the department’s social media and website strategy, participate in student design campaign critiques, and represent the building at tabling events across campus. Student Marketing Team Members will work alongside career graphic designers, web developers, video production artists, and public relations professionals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A junior or higher student studying Business, Marketing, Advertising, Graphic Design, or related fields.
- Easily grasp complex instructions to use different technology platforms.
- Knowledge of common software packages, especially Adobe Photoshop, Outlook and Excel.
- Basic knowledge of web applications including Word Press.
- Ability to work on Macintosh computers.
- Highly organized and pays close attention to detail and deadlines.
- Commitment to the Principles of Community (inclusion, integrity, respect, service, and social justice).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Customer service experience.
- Prior knowledge of project management software a plus.
